Healthy Network provides best-effort evidence about general connectivity. These answers explain what it can observe, what can limit it, and how to get useful support.

What does Healthy Network measure?

It samples latency, jitter, packet loss, and reachability, then summarizes those signals into connection quality and activity-readiness guidance. On-demand speed testing also estimates download, upload, baseline latency, and loaded latency for bufferbloat.

Can it prove whether my router or ISP is responsible?

Connection Path and Route Diagnostics compare evidence from your Mac, local gateway, and an internet destination. A healthy local gateway with unstable internet evidence points upstream; instability at the gateway points toward local Wi-Fi or router conditions. Results are evidence, not a guarantee: some routers, VPNs, firewalls, and privacy tools limit which probes receive a response.

Will a VPN or Private Relay affect the result?

Yes. A VPN can change the route, latency, and visible destination. Compare results with and without the VPN only when your security policy permits it. Private Relay and other privacy tools can also reduce route visibility without meaning the connection itself is unhealthy.

Why can a fast speed test coexist with a bad call?

Bandwidth measures capacity. Calls and games also depend on delay and consistency. High jitter, intermittent packet loss, or a large latency increase under load can disrupt real-time traffic even when download speed is high.

What data leaves my Mac?

Monitoring history, settings, and reports stay on your Mac. The app makes network probes to the selected endpoints and sends privacy-scrubbed crash data and operational diagnostics to Sentry to improve reliability. It does not contain advertising trackers. See the Privacy Policy for details.

How should I share a problem?

Open the full dashboard, run the relevant diagnostics, generate a report, and save it. Review the report before sharing it because your chosen notes or environment may still be sensitive. Send the report, your macOS version, app version, and a short description of what you experienced to support@healthynetwork.app.

Purchases, refunds, and Family Sharing

The Mac app is a separate $4.99 paid-upfront purchase with no subscription or in-app purchase. Apple manages billing, refunds, and Family Sharing eligibility through the App Store.
